Álvaro Contreras y Carvajal (1480-15?) was a Spanish nobleman, Alcalde de la fortaleza de Mérida.[1]
Biography
Born in Extremadura, was the son of Fernán Núñez de Contreras and Sarra de Carvajal, daughter of Alvar García Bejarano.[2] Carvajal also was a distant descendant of Alfonso de la Cerda and Matilde de Brienne daughter of John I of Brienne, Count of Eu.[3] His wife was Juana, daughter of Francisco de Aponte and Juana Carrillo de Mendoza.[4]
