Akiko Niwata (kanji:庭田 亜樹子, born 12 September 1984) is a Japanese women's international footballer who plays as a defender. As a junior she was a member of the Japan women's national under-19 football team. She was part of the team at the 2002 FIFA U-19 Women's World Championship.[1] With her club Urawa Red Diamonds Ladies she won 2010 Japan and South Korea Women's League Championship and scored a goal in the final against the Korean club Daekyo Kangaroos.
