Asphodelus tenuifolius is a common weed of fields particularly of wheat and chickpea fields in Punjab, Pakistan. It also grows in Egypt and in the Sinai peninsula. It has a fibrous root system. It is also known as wild onion or "jungli piyaz" in the vernaculars.
