Education Center School is a private coeducational school in Jackson, Mississippi.
History
Education Center School was founded by Martha Kabbes Burns in 1964. Continued growth allowed Martha Burns to construct a larger school at the institution's present location, 4080 Old Canton Road, Jackson. Burns's sister Lynn Macon has been school principal since 1971, and has taken a more active role since Burns's death in 2002. The Education Center is unique in that it allows the student to define their education and provides a more customized approach to learning for each individual student. Its primary focus is academics and does not have athletic programs. Classes are small with an average 10:1 student ratio. Education Center School is accredited on a twelve-month basis by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the Southern Association of Independent Schools.
