In 2000, the Golpayegan University of Engineering, also known as Golpayegan Faculty of Engineering and Technology, (Persian: دانشکده فنی و مهندسی گلپايگان ), was established under the supervision and academic support of Sharif University of Technology [1] and financial support from Saipa,[2] in Golpayegan, Iran. In the first academic year, 2000 - 2001, 50 students have been admitted in 2 majors including Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering.[3] The University places emphasis on introducing students to actual working experiences through projects with local industrial companies. There are several new majors are being developed including chemistry, biology with a focus on agriculture, metallurgy, and stranded major field Mechanical Mechatronic (combined disciplines of mechanical and electro-Nick). It is expected these new major will attract more than 1500 students.[4]
