Holland jachtbouw is a shipyard specialized in sailing yachts. It is located in the municipality of Zaanstad in the Netherlands. The shipyard was established by Chris Gongriep in 1990 as De Hemmes[1] to build lemsteraken, a traditional wooden workboat type from Lemmer. The yard acquired naval architect André Hoek's newbuild management company Dutch Built in 1998 in order to transition to aluminium sailing yachts;[2] Thereafter Hoek cooperated closely with Gongriep, producing their largest project to date, the schooner Athos, in 2010.[3] After completing a significant expansion of its building shed, Holland Jachtbouw entered a shareholding agreement with yachtbuilder Palmer Johnson that would transfer the latter's manufacturing from Wisconsin to the Netherlands in 2015.[4]The yard currently builds sailing yachts and motor yachts between 25 metres (82 ft) and 65 metres (213 ft) in length.
