Melikşah University (Turkish: Melikşah Üniversitesi) was a private university located in the Talas district of Kayseri Province, Turkey.[1] Established in 2008, it was the first private university and the second university established in Kayseri. It was named after Malik-Shah I (reigned between 1072-1092), a sultan of Seljuk Turks.
Melikşah University was established by Burç Eğitim Kültür ve Sağlık Vakfı and was built on an area of 32024.57 m².[2] On 23 July 2016, the university was closed with a statutory decree under a state of emergency following the 2016 Turkish coup d'état attempt due to its alleged Gülenist ties.[3]
