Ophthalmolebias ilheusensis is a species of aplocheilid fish endemic to Brazil where it is only known from river floodplains near Ilhéus. Formerly a sub-genus of Simpsonichthys, this genus has been elevated to a full genus with only this species currently being recognized as belonging to it.
