The Order of Idris I (Nishan al-Idris) was founded by King Idris I in 1947 when Emir of Cyrenaica. It was awarded in two classes: 1. Grand Collar - reserved for Kings and Heads of State,
and 2. Grand Cordon - reserved for consorts of Heads of State, princes and princesses and members of royal families.
It continues as a dynastic order.
