Pirkanmaa (Swedish: Birkaland, also known as Tampere Region in government documents[1]), is a region of Finland. It borders on the regions of Satakunta, Tavastia Proper, Päijät-Häme, Southern Ostrobothnia, Central Finland and Southwest Finland.
