General Studholme John Hodgson (1805 – 30 August 1890) was the General Officer Commanding, Ceylon.[1]
Military career
Born the son of General John Hodgson, Hodson was commissioned as an ensign in the British Army on 30 December 1819.[2]
He saw action in the First Anglo-Burmese War and went on to be General Officer Commanding, Ceylon in 1865.[3] He then served as colonel of the 54th Regiment of Foot (1868–76) and the King's Own Royal Regiment (Lancaster) (1876–90).[2]
