Teruyoshi Ito (伊東 輝悦 Itō Teruyoshi) (born 31 August 1974 in Shizuoka) is a Japanese football midfielder.
Club career
Ito has spent the majority of his career at Shimizu S-Pulse where he played for 18 years between 1993 and 2010. In 2007 he received the fair play award at the J. League end of season awards.[2]
International career
Ito was capped 27 times for the Japanese national team between 1997 and 2001.[1] An unused substitute at the 1998 FIFA World Cup, he is most well known for his goal against Brazil in the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta which earned Japan a shock 1–0 victory.
