Todd Duncan Astle (born 24 September 1986) is a New Zealand cricketer who plays for Canterbury. He was born in Palmerston North. He is the son of Alec Astle who played first-class cricket fleetingly for Central Districts in the late 1970s; he is not related to former New Zealand batsman Nathan Astle.
Todd was an overseas professional for Aberdeenshire C.C. for the 2008 and 2009 seasons, starring with bat and ball.[1] The club had a historic season in 2009, winning the SNCL Premier League and the Scottish Cup.[2][3]
He made his Test debut for the Blackcaps against Sri Lanka on 25 November 2012. He scored 35 runs in the second innings in a key partnership with Ross Taylor of 107. He took his first wicket also in the second innings by removing Prasanna Jayawardene.[4]
He made his Twenty20 International debut for New Zealand against Pakistan on 15 January 2016.[5]
