The Tunghsiao Power Plant or Tongxiao Power Plant (Chinese: 通霄發電廠; pinyin: Tōngxiāo Fādiànchǎng) is a gas-fired power plant in Tongxiao Township, Miaoli County, Taiwan.[3][4] With the installed capacity of 1,815 MW,[2] the plant is Taiwan's second largest gas-fired power plant after Tatan Power Plant.[5]
Future expansion
The existing low-efficiency units of the power plant will be replaced by four 720 MW combined cycle units scheduled for operation in July 2016, January 2017, July 2017 and January 2018 respectively.[6]
Transportation
Tunghsiao Power Plant is accessible within walking distance West from TRA Tongsiao Station.
