The 1979 Skate America (officially called Norton Skate) was the Skate America competition of the 1979-80 figure skating season. It was the inaugural event and was organized by the United States Figure Skating Association. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies singles, pair skating, and ice dancing.
