Pre-season
Wrexham opened their pre-season schedule with a 4–0 win over Vauxhall Motors on 13 July with goals from Andrew Mangan, Wes Baynes, Gareth Taylor and trialist Jamie Tolley.[2] After suffering their first defeat in their following match, losing 1–0 to Welsh Premier League side Aberystwyth Town, a team made up mostly of reserve and youth players travelled to play Sudbury on 20 July, winning 3–2.[3] The following day, Wrexham played the first pre-season match at their home ground, drawing 0–0 with a Liverpool XI. In the following four matches of the club's pre-season schedule, Wrexham recorded a 4–0 win over Nantwich Town, a 1–1 draw with Preston North End and a 2–0 defeat to Crewe Alexandra before drawing 2–2 against Airbus UK Broughton.[4] Wrexham finished their pre-season schedule with a 0–0 draw with Stoke City and a 5–1 win over Colwyn Bay.
