Jagtial is a district in Indian state of Telangana.[3]
Geography
Jagtial is located at 18°48′N 78°56′E / 18.8°N 78.93°E. It has an average elevation of 264 meters (866 feet).
Demographics
As of 2011 Census of India, the town had a population of 1,03,930. The average literacy rate stands at 78.61% with 67,931 literates, significantly higher than the national average of 73.00%.[4]
Government and politics
Civic administration
Jagtial Municipality was constituted in 1952 and is classified as a first grade municipality with 38 election wards. The jurisdiction of the civic body is spread over an area of 28.25 km2 (10.91 sq mi).[1] A.Sharath is the present collector of the district.[5]
